Officials Clinic

I am scheduling a YMCA officials training in Ellsworth on Sunday, October 22 in Ellsworth, beginning at 1:00 pm. The training typically lasts about 4 hours, and the participants will need to take a written, open-book exam.

If you have individuals you would like to train as a Level 1, Level 2, or AO official, or to recertify, please have them email me directly at cac.swim@yahoo.com or call/text me at 207-570-8768, and identify whether they are a new official, are recertifying, or whether they are interested in the Administrative Official training.

For information on qualifications, please refer to the document “Swim Officials Training Certification Levels (September 2016), YMCA swim officials training and certification courses description and pre-requisites” which can be found at: https://www.gomotionapp.com/team/yusa/page/system/res/77261#Official.

There are several steps to register for the training class, so the earlier the participants connect with me, the more successful the training will be.

Please feel free to reach out if you have any additional questions or concerns.

Thank you ,

Cynthia

October 29th Officials Clinic

Dear Swim Colleagues,

We are planning on having an in-person YMCA Swim Official Training at the PenBay Y on Saturday, October 29.  Check-in begins at 7:30 am, and the course will begin promptly at 8.

Both Level 1 and Level 2 trainings will be held.  There is a minimum of 10 participants needed to hold the training, and will be capped at 25. The trainings should wrap up at about 1:00, and are appropriate for both new and re-certifying officials.

The course fee is $30.00, and certification is valid for 3 years.

Please remember that if you are moving from a Level 1 to a Level 2, or recertifying as a Level 2, there are specific requirements (active certification, time served, meet sessions worked) that must be met in order to certify. If you are in this group, and would like to attend the training, please send me a copy of your current certification and a record of your meet sessions worked since then.

If you are unsure of the requirements to become an official or to recertify, you can find them in the participant guide from your previous training, as well as on the National Y Competitive Swim site, under the “Officials” tab (Swim Officials Training Certification Levels,   (https://www.teamunify.com/yusa/UserFiles/File/YMCA%20Swim%20Officials%20Courses%20Descriptions.pdf ).  You can obtain a copy of your current certification on your LCDC account.

Pre-registration and pre-payment are required.  No walk-in participants will be accepted.

Please reach out to me directly at cac.swim@yahoo.comif you are interested in attending, have any further questions, or for information on registration and payment.  I may also be reached at 207-619-0538.

The course is created as a private class and participants will be provided the link after the requirements have been submitted nd reviewed.

Please identify the Y you are associated with, the course you need to attend, whether you are a new official at Level 1 or Level 2, acknowledgement of being at least 21 years old, and your current certification and record of meets worked if appropriate.

Regards,

Cynthia Cullinane
